SUSAN M. DEMATTEO

Susan DeMatteo has been practicing law in Massachusetts for over 35 years. Her practice is devoted to the peaceful and respectful resolution of family law matters such as divorce, child custody and parenting plans, child support, complex property division and alimony. She drafts and negotiates prenuptial and post nuptial agreements, acts as settlement counsel and represents clients in uncontested divorces.

Susan received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from Northeastern University and her law degree from New England Law|Boston (formerly New England School of Law). At New England, Susan was awarded many academic awards, served as Editor in Chief of the New England Journal on Criminal and Civil Confinement and had her law review article published.

Susan is an experienced divorce mediator and is Certified by the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation. This certification represents a high level of achievement in mediation requiring significant mediation experience as well as advanced training and education. Susan has completed Online Mediation Training taught by nationally recognized mediation leaders at www.mediate.com. She has served as Co-Host for the North Shore Mediators Peer Group. She is an experienced Collaborative Lawyer and was Co-Chair of the Northern Massachusetts Practice Group for many years. Susan serves as a Trainer for new collaborative professionals. Susan is a Member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Essex County Bar Association, the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation and the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council.
